Living in Borrowdale – Area & Property Guide
Harare's best-known northern suburb, with large homes, secure complexes and the city's main upmarket shopping.
Area overview
Borrowdale is the suburb most buyers picture when they think of northern Harare: wide tree-lined roads, large walled homes on generous stands, and a steady supply of modern cluster and townhouse developments. Sam Levy's Village anchors day-to-day life with shops, restaurants, banks and medical rooms, while Borrowdale Race Course and the surrounding schools shape the character of the area. It is consistently one of the most searched suburbs by buyers in Zimbabwe and in the diaspora, so listings move quickly and asking prices sit at the top end of the Harare market. Most homes have boreholes, solar backup and dedicated security arrangements.
